Says Charles Downie, Director. “Road haulage has always been regarded as low tech but the rapid development of mobile internet services has changed the outlook for us.”
Bacton Transport is investing £50,000 in new IT in 2010 with an upgrade of the company’s systems planned in July, new hardware and web-enabled services. In a similar move TPN, Bacton’s pallet network, is also upgrading its IT this year.
The business expects everyone to benefit from the investment with a roll-out of new e-services scheduled for the autumn. Downie continues “The new systems will allow us to work smarter which in turn will drive improvements in customer service as well as a more efficient working environment for staff and employees.”
