In a significant move designed to enhance the company’s services to customers for hazardous and dangerous goods, Bacton Transport has become a member of the HazChem Network, the UK’s only multi-depot ADR network.
“The wider membership is important because coverage and transit time are better than other ADR networks” says Charles Downie, managing director, “and this means we can offer existing customers a better range of services and better value for money.”
HazChem Network was established in 2000 and operates 48 depots offering a complete range of next day and economy services throughout the country. The membership includes many of the leading privately owned road haulage companies in the UK and enjoys a strong reputation for the standard of quality and safety applied to the business. The Hazardous Emergency Response Service (HERS) operated by HazChem Network and available exclusively to all members is a fully enabled 24/7 advice and help service equipped to deal with any incident.
ADR transport is a significant part of Bacton’s operations and the company already has contracts in place for the carriage of both bulk and packaged goods. The transport of hazardous and dangerous goods by road is covered by the ADR Regulations which were updated at the beginning of 2011.
