In an innovative step towards improving services to customers in the horticultural and agri-business sectors, Bacton Transport has launched a new marketing campaign based on the company’s current distribution network of garden centres, amenity sites and landscape projects.
Stewart Galloway, General Operations Manager, takes up the story. “Delivering to more than 200 sites across the UK weekly, we suddenly realised we are in a unique position to be able to offer customers who are supplying this sector a more flexible, accessible distribution service. When you are selling products with a very short life cycle such as plants, we know how much emphasis there is on quality in the supply chain. In this way, we have been able to put our knowledge and expertise to good use and hopefully help customers to grow their own businesses and be more successful at the same time.”
The company believes the new service will also appeal to companies supplying other retail products to garden centres and are currently in discussion with potential clients.
